The project represents an opportunity to create a new, distinctive public realm in the heart of Torquay, reconnecting the western side of the Inner Harbour with North Quay. This will reinvigorate the existing Grade II listed pavilion building with improved facilities and link the public spaces throughout the town.
The landscape design proposals are focused on creating a new recreation quarter in Torquay at the harbour edge, with improved circulation routes and connections. A hotel development will form the centre piece to the scheme with interconnecting public realm spaces at its interface.
Shared surfaces, water features, decks, stepped harbour edges and waterside footpaths will be introduced to create an inclusive connected structure of open spaces.
