LT Studio with Feilden, Clegg, Bradley Architects have won a RIBA competition to redevelop Lancaster University Management School and have been instructed on all RIBA stages to completion.
The project will create a truly world-class and innovative teaching, research and business-engagement environment to cater for the future needs of students, staff and business partners.
The brief asked for selective retention of the existing estate and the integration of new build elements to create a management school of international standing.
At competition stage, LT Studio produced a bold, contemporary design concept which will transform the management school, delivering an environment which supports research in Business and Management. The masterplan will create an agile set of spaces that will be relevant across the broad spectrum of the Management School’s potential occupants and deliver world-class teaching and learning facilities.
The design of the spaces will stimulate collaborative working by creating environments that are open, creative and inclusive, whilst providing more traditional accommodation and spaces for quieter, more contemplative working. It shall also reconnect key external spaces across the campus structure including the central spine.
