Watchet East Quay

LT Studio is working with Piers Taylor of Invisible Studio to deliver the redevelopment of Watchet Marina. The development will house art studios, a gallery, shared workspaces, studios, maker spaces, a print workshop and a café and associated high quality public realm which will be central to the scheme.

The project is part of a wider regeneration strategy led by local community interest company Onion Collective. Other projects include the Boat Museum and Splashpoint for which LT Studio has also provided landscape consultancy. Unanimous approval at committee was won in July 2018.

“Onion Collective have worked closely with LT Studio for four years now, most particularly on our East Quay cultural and enterprise development.  This major £7.5m quayside community-led scheme has now been approved for planning permission. Thanks to LT it has now has world class landscape design, which LT developed in close collaboration with community requirement and ideas.  Their designs are creative and full of energy and joy; having responded to the brief to incorporate a sense of the quayside’s industrial past, but also to create a space that is welcoming and sensitive to people’s desire for informal place-making, creativity and relaxation.  We hugely enjoy having LT as part of the design team for East Quay, their creative thinking together with attention to detail and readiness to meet deadlines make them a pleasure to work with.  We value their commitment, energy, expertise and extraordinary sensitivity to the complexities of the scheme and would heartily recommend them to any developer.”
